I have a stone built house and have been having the windows painted. I noticed that some of the grouting needed attention. Tom came round and assessed the job and rearranged his schedule to complete the work while the scaffolding was in place. He and a member of his team completed the job in good time and worked efficiently and to a high standard. I am completely satisfied with the result and have no hesitation in recommending Tom and his Company to anyone who requires similar building restoration.
Many thanks to you and your merry gang for making such a magic repair to my wall. A great job and the garden is so tidy it looks as if you have never been here until you look at the wall and you see that it has come alive again .
I just wanted to thank for all the work you have done for me, including the rebuilding of my external wall, together with the fine job you did in repairing the longstanding damage to the house frontage, and the replacement of two lintels, all with beautifully dressed stones prepared on site to match the original Georgian workmanship. I was particularly impressed by the fact that when the weather turned against you, you brought tentage on site to enable the work to continue on the tight schedule imposed, and also by your responsiveness and flexibility in all our dealings. Many thanks.
Tom, in the howling gale this morning went round to make sure the wall is still standing & can confirm it is! Many thanks to you & the guys for a great job very well done, much appreciated & will be admired daily. The grave stone will also be long admired by me & family members, thank you.
We have used Edinburgh Masonry a number of times to remedy wear and tear and to correct previous sub standard repairs to our listed Victorian house and stone garden walls. We have always been very impressed with the way their people conduct themselves on site, their punctuality and last but not least, the excellent workmanship they deliver. Rather than just do what is easy and standard, they included us in the decision process on how to tackle tricky details so we have ended up with exactly the result that we wanted. Their knowledge and skills have meant the house and walls still look their age, but are now beautiful, safe and well suited to face the next 130 years.
Cut out and redressed defective stonework and replaced with new dressed stone to match existing building. Repointed whole extension to match existing. Tom and his men - from pricing to finish, can't fault the guys with absolutely first class workmanship. All work was completed on time, all debris was removed and the site cleaned.
When you live in a old house, you need reliable support on hand to respond to emergencies and to do the routine work that will be required on a regular basis. Tom and his team at Edinburgh Masonry responded rapidly when a stone broke around a window in our 150 year old house. They committed to a timetable and stuck too it. They caused no inconvenience to us and tidied up at the end. It was a bonus to watch a mason replicate the pattern created by the original masons on the new stones which were required. Nothing better than watching someone who knows what they are doing. A significant piece of work delivered to a happy customer.
Many thanks to Tom and his merry men who took great care removing a huge amount of stone from our old two foot thick steading wall to form a new kitchen window. Extremely knowledgable and always helpful, they also helped recycle some huge blocks of old sandstone, building a striking water feature from them to celebrate the history of the building. The new window opening fits perfectly with the character and stonework of the original doors and windows thanks to Tom and his team’s diligence with their chisels. I’d most certainly recommend Edinburgh Masonry for any stonework jobs you might have.
